State of Decay

Now that the Australian Classification Board has allowed State of Decay onto our sunny shores, we thought we'd review our copy! Which is totally the censored/kittens/rainbow version. But seriously, its still a great game even if you can't consume drugs.

The Last of Us

Yes. You know what this is about. People who don't even play video games know what this is about.

The Last of Us.

Game of the Year (so far), with an emotional and slightly depressing story about life post-fungal apocalypse where everything can kill you and your best friend is a brick.

Xbox Live Arcade Round Up!

This weeks round up features Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Battleblock Theatre and Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine!

It's short, it's sharp and it's definitely snappy - this six minute review will keep you upto date on the latest in Arcade releases.

Xbox One Reveal

The next generation Xbox (or NextBox) is called the Xbox One. Rather more limited than the much speculated about Xbox Infinity, and maybe this is a sign of the future of the next generation of consoles. We heard some really exciting things in this keynote, mainly regarding the ability of the X1 to integrate further as a media system for all of your television and gaming needs. Whether this will be applicable across all regions of the globe will be a point of contention, as Australians still don't have the same features as other regions on the Xbox 360.

We saw hardware. It was big. We got some decent (although still vague) specifications. They were as expected. We didn't see many games. But they'll be at E3 next month.

Overall, we're in. The next generation of consoles is going to be a fascinating ride and we are up to the challenge.

Injustice Gods Among Us

Oh, superheroes fighting each other? What an unlikely twist in a fighting game from the makers of Mortal Kombat versus DC Universe.

The fighting sequences in this game are obviously where all the time and money went in development, which is not to detract from the stellar game mechanics either but it does reflect upon the quality of the story and the cut scenes. The animated sequences in this game are not what I would call visually pleasing, the textures and even basic animation left a lot to be desired.

That being said it is one of the best fighting games I've played, overlooking the tedious quicktime events that occur multiple times within a fight, the fight scenes are well done and remain interesting when paired against the host of DC characters available to the player.

Bioshock Infinite: Not Just An Escort Quest

In this weeks game review Brent and Shelly tell you why you should (or shouldn't) experience the world of Bioshock Infinite and the saga of Elizabeth and Booker DeWitt. We take you through some differences between this and the previous Bioshock games, and some improvements aswell.

The stakes are high and so are the scores, although there is some debate about just how high the scores should be..

Tomb Raider (Boobs)

This week Brent and Shelly take a look at Tomb Raider, the gritty reboob- uh reboot of the Lara Croft we all know and love. Her adventures in this game take her back to her roots with all new enemies and re-imagined weapons. It's definitely worth your time.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

This week we review the madness that is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - a new generation of Metal Gear games that are just as bizarre as ever. The levels of crazy seen in Revengeance were unparalleled but the difficulty in the gameplay just wasn't there and left this game feeling like Metal Gear Solid's cousin who took the last week off his meds.

Crysis 3

Do you like fantastic graphics? Good, cause that's about thing you'll be able to remember about Crysis 3. That and the bow. So much about the bow.

Honestly, we liked it. It was entertaining and engaging enough to keep us glued to the Xbox across a few nights, but it just felt like it lacked a certain something at it's core. Even at the height of the story arc, Prophet's mission just feels a little hollow. Maybe it's because he's just a suit now, or maybe Crytek just gave up.

Dead Space 3

Watch as Shellyxo from MonoChrome Review battles her way through hordes of Necromorphs in Dead Space 3 using only her foul mouth and misguided attempts at shooting things. She only dies a few times. Each chapter.
